USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships

It was a rough day for all the competitions, rain and more rain poured as we attempted to warm-up for the competition.  The winds were at our faces most of the competition, making it hard to settle into a rhythm.  There were only three heights cleared throughout the competition.  Half of the field did not clear a bar at the first height.  From there, 12 competitors proceeded to the next height.  There were only seven competitions to clear the second height at 14’3.25 / 4.35m.  The top two competitions cleared the third and final height of 14’7.25 / 4.45m.

My performance at the USA Outdoor Championships was not the outcome I hoped for.  I finished 9^th among a field of 22 competitors, clearing 13’9.25” / 4.20m on a second attempt.  As a result, I was only being one spot from making an International Team this summer.

Now back to the drawing board to get leaner, faster, stronger, and meaner.  The road to Beijing ‘08 started today!
